We revisited the overview of the ACA Leader/Guide Pathway that John MacDonald offered us earlier this year and went into the next level of understanding and application for how these new certification options will be most useful for you!
ACA is rolling out the new Leader/Guide Pathway…a new certification option for paddlesports leaders who do not want/need to become instructors but do need to demonstrate a certain level of training and proficiency, professional certification and will need access to insurance for on-water programming.
• The different levels of Leader Certification available for Day Trip Leaders as well as the time required, prerequisites, and relative cost of certification;
• The different levels of Guide Certification available for people who lead Multi-Day Guided Trips as well as the time required, prerequisites, and relative cost of certification;
• How this program is REPLACING the former CPL and Trip Leader Assessments and what the transition will entail for leaders who hold previous versions of these credentials;
• Opportunities for experienced Instructors, Trip Leaders and Guides to advance to become Leader Trainers or Guide Trainers
